The new year has kicked off with a punch and summer is well and truly upon us. With temps in the mid-to-late 30’s, how are you keeping cool this summer? At Kleer, we’re all about keeping things cool - including you - so here are our top 10 tips for cooling down on the Sunshine Coast this summer.

You are doing something right in life if you’re lucky enough to call this sunny state your backyard right?
Whether you’re a Sunny Coast local or a regular holiday goer I think we can all agree that the Sunshine Coast is a pretty magical destination. And these last few years the Sunshine Coast has definitely found its cool. Whether you’re into nature, fine dining or getting real salty, we have created an epic list of 20 things to tick off your bucket list this Christmas holiday season for the whole family.

1. Christmas holidays wouldn’t be sunny coast style without some good old fish and chips watching the sun go down on Mooloolaba beach. Head to Mooloolaba Fish and Chips and get the best chips, some juicy Mooloolaba king prawns and head down to the beach with a rug (and a six pack of course) and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the coast.

2. Nothing like happy hour on holidays right? Make sure you head to Beach Bar and Grill for hearty steaks, creative parmigianas in an airy, beachfront bar hosting regular acoustic music.

3. When was the last time you went to Aussie World ? Make it a must this holiday season, perfect for those overcast days where the beach isn’t calling. The kids will love it! They have a range of thrilling rides to suit all ages, a kids club, restaurants, shows and games. It will make for a fantastic day out for the whole family!

4. You haven’t experienced fine dining on the Sunshine Coast if you haven’t been to Bistro C . Positioned absolute beachfront overlooking Noosa’s Laguna Bay, Bistro C is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Take my word and try the Fraser Isle Spanner Crab Spaghetti for lunch and wash it down with a glass of Rose!

5. Head down to Mooloolaba and grab a fresh juice from Boost Juice before setting off on foot to the rock wall at the Mooloolaba spit and enjoy the panoramic views of the coast. The kids will also love the different parks along the way!

6. Or why not pack up the car and head away for the weekend on a Fraser Island Adventure Tour ? Experience the sheer beauty, precious eco-systems, unique wildlife and tranquility of one of the world's great natural playgrounds.

7. Nothing like a BBQ on the beach in Summer right? There are multiple spots all over the Sunny Coast but we recommend grabbing your meat from Cotton Tree Meats . They are fourth generation butchers that have been proudly serving the Sunshine Coast with the freshest and finest locally sourced meat since 1980. And if you haven’t got your meat ready for Christmas Day yet, this is the place to go!

8. If you’re a pizza lover like us be sure to take the whole family along to Augellos . With an extensive children’s menu, Augello’s is a great place to bring the family. Augello’s Mooloolaba has been an iconic dining landmark on the stunning beachfront Mooloolaba tourist strip since 1995. They have two relaxing styles of dining. Alfresco on the lower deck or venture upstairs for beach and ocean views from the balcony.

9. On Sunday morning’s don’t forget to head down to the Cotton Tree esplanade for the Cotton Tree Markets . There is something for everyone with local artisans, designers or inventors selling their own unique and creative works. After your shopping head down to Envy for a delicious coffee and breakfast. They specialise in healthy, organic meals, freshly squeezed juices, wholefoods and superfoods!

10.  If healthy isn’t your thing then you can’t go past Montezuma’s for some cheesy goodness. Try the Chilli Con Carne or the Speedy Gonzales! And don’t forget the sangria!

11. Hit the water in style with a sunset cruise aboard Catalina . This epic boat is photoshoot material, so dress to impress, and get snapping as this is without a doubt one of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast.

12. I think we can all agree that Sunshine Coast is SUP lovers heaven. Rent some boards from Golden Beach and float along the protected Pumicestone Passage. With Caloundra on one side and Bribie Island on the other, this channel is teeming with underwater life, so keep those peepers peeled!

13. If you are a seafood lover and a lover for fine-dining then book yourself a table at Fish on Parkyn in Mooloolaba. You can’t go past the BBQ seafood plate or the malay seafood curry!

14. Did you bring your dog on holidays? Here is a local’s insider tip for the best dog park on the Sunshine Coast. Start by grabbing an iced vanilla latte at Twinfin’s by Buddina beach then start at La Balsa park and walk around Pt Cartwright to Kawana beach. Keep in mind off leash times are 4pm - 8am.

15. If you haven’t experienced Underwater World with the kids make it a must this Christmas holidays! Check out their underwater tunnel, seal island, a touch zone and a whole kingdom of jellyfish to wow the littles!

16. Head out for a Saturday night along Ocean Street. Start with some South American cuisine at Machu Picchu , then stroll down to Piano Bar for some live tunes before heading to Sol Bar for a good old booty shake.

17. Want to discover the most breathtaking beachy precinct on the Coast? Our pick would be a splash in the shallows at Tea Tree Bay, with a front row seat to the wave-slaying action of the Noosa points. From here you’ll agree there’s soooo much more to the Sunshine Coast than retirees and epic coffee. After your swim or surf refuel at Cafe Le Monde where they have been fueling surfers since 1986!

18. Visiting on the second Sunday of the month? Two words: Peregian Originals . Oh and BYO booze, cheese, crackers, and picnic rug.

19. Another locals insider tip for you. Throughout December make sure to check out the Mooloolaba pop-up cocktail bar brought to you by Sunsets Mooloolaba , at the famous “Loo With A View”. All proceeds go towards boosting the Mooloolaba tourism industry.

20. And last but not least. If you are around on a Friday night a great family night out is at the Marcoola Markets . Held every week, market stalls pop up on a vacant block in the centre of town and attract hungry locals ready to feast on some of the best cheap eats on the Sunshine Coast.
Have a Merry Christmas!

Are you planning a summer party? Whether it's a family bash in the backyard or an all-out beach bonanza, you want to make sure that your party is a massive hit. Following the advice below is guaranteed to transform your event from average to amazing.

1. Choose the Right Venue

The perfect party needs a perfect location. Think about how many people you'd like to attend, which activities you're planning, and how long the party will go on. If it's a relaxed get-together with a small group of friends, your backyard could be perfect. If it's a big bash with everyone you know, hiring out a venue makes sense.

2. Provide For All Ages

Does your party cater to the needs of every single guest? Even if the majority of guests are adults, it's smart to have a few activities available for kids - think face painting, paddling pool sand inflatables. Likewise, even if most guests are young, it's important to think about elderly attendees - make sure there's a comfortable chair in a shady area so they can enjoy the fun without getting exhausted.

3. Cater to Different Dietary Requirements

Tempted to throw on a barbecue and hope for the best? That's not a great idea,as you might leave some guests feeling hungry. Try to cater to any vegetarians, vegans, meat-eaters or those with intolerances who might be attending, and make the ingredients of everything you offer available to guests.

When you're catering to large groups, hiring a cold room is also a smart way to keep everything fresh and tasty.

4. Offer Plenty of Chilled Drinks

Is it really a summer party if you're not enjoying your favourite iced drinks? This is another job for a cold room or freezer room- no body wants to be drinking lukewarm cocktails by the end of the event.

People who are too hot won't stay at your party long, so be sure you provide plenty of drinks to keep them cool. Offer free water to prevent anyone suffering from dehydration, which can lead to serious health problems. As well as keeping drinks ice cold, your freezer room is the ideal place to store refreshing ice lollies and other frozen treats.

5. Curate the Perfect Playlist

Music is everything when it comes to parties. For a small gathering, you could ask everyone attending to suggest a song and put together a big group playlist.

For larger events, it makes sense to choose old classics, top hits and tunes that will get everybody up and dancing. Now isn't the time to showoff those rare B-sides you've collected - go for the crowd pleasers instead.

6. Introduce Guests to Each Other

Hosting a party where not all of the guests know each other? It's your responsibility to get people chatting and having fun! Try inviting people who you know have shared interests or similar senses of humour, introduce everyone, and take a few minutes to get the conversation going. Before you know it,all of your friends will be besties.

7. Provide Enough Seating

Between dancing, singing and playing games, summer parties can get exhausting. Make sure your guests have somewhere to relax and get their energy back by providing plenty of comfortable seating. Arrange seats in small clumps so that guests can chat together, and always provide more seats than you think you need. There's nothing worse than being the person who has to awkwardly hover.

Make sure your guests enjoy themselves by following the top tips above and throw an awesome party this summer. If you're ready to hire a cold room for your event, head over to our website and  get in touch .

Got a new cold drink you want to get people excited about? Planning a summer promotion is a great way to
get the word out about your new beverage, offer free samples to potential customers and get people coming
back for more.

To run a successful promo, you need to plan carefully, create an attention-grabbing display and hire the
right equipment. Read on to find out exactly how to run a promotion that could turn your drink into the next
big thing.

Choose the Right Location

There's no point in setting up an amazing drinks promotion in an area that's completely dead. You should
look for locations that have high foot traffic and plenty of space for you to set up and that attract the
kind of consumer you're looking to target.

For example, if you want to appeal to families, setting up next to a large toy store at the weekend would
be ideal. To draw in high-end consumers, you could set up in front of a classy restaurant one evening.
Shopping centres usually have the highest foot traffic, but pitches can be competitive.

Create an Eye-Catching Display

Your promotion needs to grab the attention of everyone who walks past to ensure you make the most of your
pitch. Bright colours, large models, music, sound effects and staff dressed in costume all work
towards attracting plenty of interest.
Be sure to hire staff who are outgoing and confident, as they'll be able to engage with people easily and
ensure you have plenty of takers. Make sure your promotional display matches your brand image or you might
end up targeting the wrong kind of consumer.

Hire a Cold Room

There's no point in spending a fortune on promoting an amazing new drink if it's going to be lukewarm.
Keep all your samples cool on even the hottest summer day by hiring a mobile cold room.

A walk-in cold room can be set up alongside the rest of your promotional display, allowing staff to easily
restock their samples whenever they need to. Most cold room hire companies include service and maintenance,
so you can be sure that someone will be on hand to help if anything goes wrong during your promo.

Mobile cold rooms are towed behind your vehicle, so it's easy to take them anywhere you need to. This is
ideal if you're planning several events in different locations.

Stock Enough Drinks

Cold rooms are available in a range of sizes, so you'll need to calculate how many drinks you'll need.
Look at the average foot traffic for your pitch and then estimate how many people will take a sample to get a
good starting figure. It makes sense to bring more than you think you need to avoid going out of stock early
and wasting part of your pitch hire time.

If you're offering a number of different flavours, take the popularity of each into account. If strawberry
is far more popular than lime, stock more of it.

Offer a Discount Voucher

Once consumers have tasted your delicious drink, you need to ensure that they take the next step and
don't just forget all about you. Offering a discount voucher alongside each free drink is a great way to
turn samplers into customers.

You could also include website and social media details on the voucher, encouraging people to share a
selfie online with their drink, share in a dedicated hashtag or send you their feedback. Encouraging online
engagement is a great way to get extra value from your promotion and reach a wider audience.

Your wedding day is one of the most important and memorable days of your life. It can also bean insanely expensive day, with an average of around $36,000 dollars being spent by couples on their nuptials in Australia. Fortunately, it's possible to have a beautiful and unforgettable wedding day without the staggering cost.

A big trend in modern weddings is shunning the big-budget venues for a less formal and more DIY outdoor event. On the Sunshine Coast, this is an attractive option. There are numerous gorgeous beachside venues available to use via the Sunshine Coast Council, and the temperate climate almost guarantees that you'll enjoy good weather conditions.

An outdoor venue means a huge reduction in the cost of hiring a more traditional venue, and it also means that you can save a bundle by providing the catering yourselves. If this sounds like your idea of the perfect coastal wedding day, then here are the four key elements that you should include.
